April 6, 2020: Staying organized + purposeful
It seems we're all trying to stay sane in our new stay-at-home world. Having an organizing framework for my day and feeling a sense of purpose are huge for me, and became even more so without a full-time job. Now at home 24/7, I've been creating 5-item to do lists and may try the 1-3-5 rule. I really appreciate that these lists are achievable and change every day! Also, I believe things like "yoga" or "cook dinner" are acceptable list items.
In my last post, I shared that cooking dinner helps me feel purposeful. I'm trying a few other experiments as well. I enrolled in Yale's The Science of Well-Being on Coursera (thanks, Pam!), which is being offered for free because we could all use it right now. Every morning this week, I'm participating in a webinar led by the Good Wolf Group on personal evolution in times of crisis (signup via GWG on Instagram). Today we learned some fundamentals of adaptive leadership and tomorrow we'll scenario plan. There were nearly 400 people on the webinar today! Have you tried something new and energizing during quarantine?
Last December, I read How To Do Nothing by Jenny Odell (highly recommend). In it, she shares that in developing a regular practice of taking walks and sitting in nature, she has become a bird watcher, or at least, a bird noticer. I've been trying to pay more attention to birds since, and have seen a lot of beautiful birds in our neighborhood. I've noticed even more these past few weeks. I'm not sure if this is because I'm paying more attention or that nature is thriving as humans retreat into our homes. Is anyone else noticing this?

Your readers would not mind if you were to share a picture or two of the birds you see!
